Niche Area
English has been chosen as one of the niche areas of SMK Convent Bukit Nanas (the other two being gymnastics and the band). The reasons for English being chosen as one of the niche area are as follows:
-English is a global language
-CBN being a missionary school, English language has been given top priority from the very beginning
-Our students come from English speaking background, and therefore do rather well in public examinations (PMR, SPM & MUET) and English-based activities. For instance, this year CBN was the state champ in both Choral Speaking and Debate-a great achievement indeed as many of the top schools are in KL.
SMK Convent Bukit Nanas is a premier school,estalished in 1899 by a group of nuns.Being a mission school,CBN has always given priority to the English subject,thus students use English at considerable ease.
Bearing the fact that English is a global language that needs to be learnt by all,it was chosen as a niche area.Making the choice was made easier by the fact that our students come from English speaking background.As such,they do well in it academically as well as doing extremely well in English-based activities.
