SMK CBN Parent-Teachers’ Association

The PTA of CBN is the link between students’ families and the administration of SMK CBN. To shape a new generation into productive members of society with a complete education is no easy job.

The duty of the CBN PTA is made more challenging by the fact that SMK CBN is a semi-government funded school. As such, the provision of basic facilities depends on the school’s own effort. However, the CBN PTA is willing to accept the challenge for the benefit of our children, who have obtained places in this prestigious school.

Activities of the CBN PTA

The CBN PTA carries out its functions through various committees, each with its own field of responsibility as shown below.

Central Committee

Closely linked with the administration of SMK CBN. Discussions and cooperative measures are often held in order to overcome any problems faced.

Fund-Raising Sub-Committee

Ensures that sufficient funds are available for all projects that have been agreed upon. Examples of previously executed projects are dinner functions, concerts and Family Day.

Education Sub-Committee

Responsible for academic programmes. Examples of such programmes are PMR, SPM and STPM motivational seminars, motivational events, seminars and other educational courses.

ICT Sub-Committee

Helps to complete the school with the latest technological equipment and carries out maintenance of existing equipment.

Co-curriculum Sub-Committee

Provides for the expenses of students who have been chosen to represent SMK CBN in competitions with other schools at all levels.

Development Sub-Committee

Ensures a conducive environment for teaching and learning, including the management of basic facilities within the school compound.

Welfare Sub-Committee

Funds and takes care of the welfare of all CBN staff and students. Examples of aid offered include funding for food, school fees, uniforms and band equipment.

Safety Sub-Committee

Cooperates with SK CBN 1 and 2 in traffic control and students’ safety, including cooperation with the police and DBKL.

Public Relations Sub-Committee

Cooperates with the Safety Sub-Committee in communicating with various parties related to SMK CBN for mutual benefit.
